Yeah, honestly I admit I got a little less invested in the show when it started down the 'Sherlock is poised to fall back into self-destruction via drug addiction at any moment' track.

I liked the idea of him being troubled and maybe using drugs in unsafe ways as one of the ways he copes. But that's a far cry from the 'woe the sensitive self-destructive man' angle I'm kind of tired of in pop media.
