"The negative things about Twitter, and social media in general, but really when we’re talking about social media, we’re mostly talking about Twitter, are just so wrapped up in what’s good about it, almost inextricably intertwined, and when you try to tease even one of them away… You know the thing that concerns me most about where we are now as Twitter inhabitants? citizens? is not even these moments of shaming and trollery. They’re part of it. But I think the chilling effect that they have and the way that they make people afraid to speak their mind."
