Women with Attention Deficit Disorder

Sari Solden’s Women with Attention Deficit Disorder is super influential right now. Both me and my ex-girlfriend were told to read it by our respective therapists. And literally, the number one reason my therapist recommended it is because I was talking about always having problems pulling off appropriate femininity. [I like my therapist because she’s not a dick about my flakiness, but, like, I wish she were more informed about queer and feminist issues.]
It’s not a bad book, and you can get used copies pretty cheap (because everyone and their cousin has been told to read it), but Solden is very uncritical about medication in general and stimulant drugs specifically. I mean, I used to shoot meth, and I’m pretty leery of diagnosis by prescription.
