This scene in Next Gen pretty much changed the course of my adolescence. I not only developed a terrible, all consuming crush on Data (which fit nicely with my terrible, all consuming crushes on Spock and Sherlock Holmes, and helped set the standard for nerdy, emotionally unavailable love objects) but I had to grapple with my lust for Yar, which I was so far from being able to acknowledge. Wow, being 13 in a nutshell.
